Dixie

Dixie is a very loving and energetic child. She is very creative and loves arts and crafts. Dixie also enjoys writing and reading.

She is enrolled in special education classes for those with severe emotional and behavioral issues. At times, Dixie exhibits disruptive behavior in the classroom. As a result, she is often unable to focus on her school work. Therapy and medication assist Dixie in managing and understanding her behaviors. Although she continues to have some behavior problems, her teachers have noted an improvement. Dixie will require special education services on an on-going basis.

She has experienced a great deal of chaos and instability in her young life. Although Dixie has endured many disappointments, she is still hopeful about the future. Her greatest wish is for a family of her own. A loving, supportive and committed family is needed for Dixie, one who will remain patient through the difficult times. Her ideal family is experienced in parenting children with behavior issues. Firm structure and consistency work best for Dixie. If necessary, the selected family must be willing to participate in therapy with her.
