The DC Child and Family Services Agency realized that Jade would benefit from services and assistance in July of 2005. As there are no immediate family members within the Metropolitan area, finding a permanent home for this young lady is crucial to her future development.
Jade is a remarkable person. She enjoys school, social outings, and all types of music. Most importantly, Jade is resilient in personality. In that, she feels there is nothing she can't accomplish. In fact, Jade feels that her challenges don't make her different, but, more unique than most. Also, her willingness to try most things, speaks to who she is, and infinite possibilities of what she can become...given the right supports. Jade is looking for a family who will embrace and nurture her into adulthood. Keeping in mind that just because she has special needs, doesn't mean she isn't full of promise and potential.
