Mercedes

Mercedes is a well-rounded young lady who is artistic, athletic and computer savvy. Mercedes enjoys laughing with her peers and she possesses an infectious smile. She is looking forward to playing collegiate basketball in the future, but what this young teen desires most is a permanent family and a nice home

Mercedes is in an age appropriate grade in an emotional support classroom. She generally is able to get along with adults and peers, although she has some conflicts with peers when she feels that they are mean or disrespectful towards her. Through therapy, Mercedes is currently learning to recognize the triggers that upset her and how to channel her feelings in a more positive and constructive way.

There is quite a variety of things that Mercedes enjoys doing including art, sports and working with computers. She likes to draw and paint and she recently visited an art studio where she was able to showcase her natural artistic abilities. She also enjoys playing basketball and playing video games. In time shared with friends, Mercedes loves to laugh and smile a lot, watch TV programs such as "South Park" and just be in the company of others. She has a great sense of humor.

Mercedes is a smart, soft-spoken teen who has a lot of potential, but needs the loving support of a committed family to nurture her various gifts. The stability that comes from having a family will make a positive impact in the life of this young lady who has experienced many disappointments. She has not always had the tools to constructively express her emotions. A family that can be understanding of her past, support her through therapy and encourage continued contact with her two siblings will help Mercedes to soar and reach her full potential!
