Rebecca was born in 1992 and is on her high school cheerleading squad. She's also active in different school clubs. Her favorite subjects are math and science and she enjoys learning new things. Rebecca spends time on the weekends volunteering at her local library and loves to pass the time by reading.

She seems shy and reserved on the surface but this thoughtful teen really takes in a conversation and thinks about it before she responds. It's apparent that her affinity for reading makes her a very inquisitive young lady. With so much to think about, she's not yet decided on a career path but knows she wants to go to college. We're not concerned about that at all because we have every confidence that she will find her path in college as many of us do. Who knows, she might even go into journalism considering the skill at which she "interviewed" our news anchor about her career choices.

Discipline and focus are other attributes that shine through when getting to know Rebecca. She likes and appreciates structure and is looking for that family who will nurture and help her grow in all areas. Teens in foster care definitely need a permanent family as most teens are not truly ready to be an adult (despite what some of them think). For those such as Rebecca, being a child in the foster care system has been hard enough. Imagine how hard it must be when you're getting ready to go out in to the world but don't have the day-to-day support of a family to call your own.
