Say hello to Ronald, who may one day star in his own cooking show on the Food Network! This quiet young teenager absolutely loves cooking ? so much that he cooks meals once a week for the other children and residents in his residential treatment facility. Cooking is Ronald?s way to relax and unwind, while still having fun and enjoying his time with the people around him. Ronald is currently enrolled in a life skills program of a specialized school. His classes are geared toward teaching daily living skills that will assist him and provide necessary knowledge for the future. Ronald?s favorite subjects are gym and music, as he?s able to take advantage of the active learning atmosphere. He also enjoys participating in community events ? especially around the holidays ? where he assists by generously playing the hand bells! In the classroom, Ronald generally gets along well with his peers and interacts very well with staff and teachers. Depending upon the level of difficulty and his like or dislike of coarse material, Ronald?s grades may fluctuate. Like many children his age, Ronald has several interests. His favorite foods include hot wings, Chinese, and seafood. He really enjoys sports, and dreams of one day becoming a professional football or basketball player. If sports don?t work out, Ronald says that he would like to own and operate his own daycare, or perhaps he may study to become a doctor, lawyer, judge, or police officer. Ronald has no problem keeping his options open! Other interests include outdoor activities like fishing and hiking, watching television, and reading his favorite books. He has a great sense of humor and enjoys sharing jokes with his friends. According to Ronald, his ?forever family? would have other children that he could play and interact with. He would also like a mother, father, and possibly grandparents. However, the best family for Ronald would be one who is committed to his needs and providing the love, support, and guidance necessary for him to continue to grow and excel. It is important that he maintain contact with his sister. A family who enjoys cooking as much as Ronald would also be a plus!
