Meet our little 7-year-old Raymond. He absolutely loves to listen to the sounds of musical toys and can easily be soothed by soft music. Raymond attends special educational school and his teacher has noticed that he seems to enjoy it. Little Raymond has had to deal with a lot in his young age but he is a fighter and has proven to defeat many odds. He is non-verbal and can let you know what he needs by body movement, such as moving around when in discomfort and crying if he does not like certain things. He is making progress in physical development. He is able to flex his arms and legs with assistance and to hold that position for a longer period of time. Raymond also has limited range of motion of his head. He is able to move his head, arms and legs without assistance. Raymond was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at birth. A CT scan showed very little identifiable brain tissue and a major portion of the cranium was filled with cerebrospinal fluid. He is fed through a G-tube. His overall development is delayed. Little Raymond was born in May 2001 and is of Latino descent. He will continue to need assistance in all of his daily living skills. Raymond needs a loving home to help him grow and share in special moments. If you are interested in providing a permanent home for Raymond, please contact Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
