David is an active but quiet youngster who likes to do variety of physical activities. He enjoys basketball, video games, riding his bike, playing with cars and showcasing his great dance moves on dance mats- the latest gaming experience craze requiring both energy and skills to win! David?s demeanor is very quiet and shy until he feels comfortable enough to open up, especially to adults. Fun interactions with other children help David to be a little more trusting and feel at ease. David attends a private school for children who require emotional support. His favorite classes are math, reading and gym. In the past, he has had some difficulties at school but he has managed to overcome many of them just by changing his approach to challenging situations. David has made wonderful strides in forming good relationships, expressing himself in appropriate ways, and even making several new friends. Playing sports is another outlet that David has utilized as a means to enjoyment and channeling his emotions in a positive direction. Becoming part of a family and assuming a consistent routine would be very beneficial for David. A lot of David?s challenges can be attributed to the instability and uncertainty that he has experienced in his young life. Gaining a family and building familial relationships will help to stabilize this youngster and aid him in looking towards a brighter future. His new family should have special training and experience in working with children who have a history of abuse and behavior issues. It would be helpful if David was the only child in the home, allowing him to soak up all the love and attention he so rightfully needs and deserves!
