Active and energetic can best describe this 10-year-old boy, David. He is involved in sports activities and enjoys basketball, handball and soccer the most. Playing outdoors is his favorite thing to do. David plays well with others and very often takes on the role of a leader in different activities. He can also entertain himself joyfully with creative imaginary play. David is focused on the present and tends to live in the moment. He always has his own youthful way of approaching situations. His delightful demeanor and his loving and excitable attitude make people feel relaxed to be around him. He is also fun to be with because he likes to joke around and be silly. David interacts with adults appropriately and enjoys their one-on-one attention. David is in 2nd grade and likes to go to school and learn new things. Due to developmental delay, David receives special education services for the academic subjects. He is improving in his language development with speech therapy. He participates in movement therapy and is progressing well in terms of learning to express his emotions in a healthy manner. David is most successful and can stay focused on tasks when his environment is highly structured. David was born in 1996 and is an African-American. He has relationships with his sisters in California and maintains ongoing contact with them. If you would like to provide a permanent adoptive home for David, please contact Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
